Every day, survivors of crime show extraordinary courage and determination in the face of unimaginable challenges. Now is the time for survivor voices to be heard to inspire change and make a difference in public safety policy.
On September 23-24, 2024, survivor voices will be heard as thousands of survivors from across the country join state and national leaders for the 2024 Crime Survivors Speak March on Washington.
Light a candle in honor of a survivor For you, a loved one, or a survivor in your community
2024 marks the 40th anniversary of the Victims of Crime Act, the 30th anniversary of the Violence Against Women Act, and the 20th anniversary of the Crime Victims Rights Act.
To commemorate these huge milestones and advance a new victims’ rights movement, the Crime Survivors Speak March on Washington will unite thousands of crime survivors to call for the next era of victims’ rights and public safety priorities rooted in crime prevention, community health, rehabilitation, economic mobility, and trauma recovery for all.
About Us
Crime Survivors for Safety and Justice is a national network of crime survivors joining together to create healing communities and shape public safety policy. Since our founding, Crime Survivors for Safety and Justice has passed more than 100 successful criminal justice and public safety reforms.
With over 200,000 members and growing, Crime Survivors for Safety and Justice is building a movement to heal together and promote bolder public safety policies that help the people and communities most harmed by crime and violence. For too long, public safety policies haven’t helped survivors of crime, despite billions spent. Instead, too much incarceration and not enough prevention or recovery support means the cycle of crime continues. We’re organizing to change that.
